HWPSDO aims to empower individuals, communities, and civil society organizations to achieve sustainable social and economic development in Afghanistan by promoting health, WASH, education, livelihoods, gender equality, and human rights.

 

Strategic Objectives

  1. Empower Women and Girls, Address Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
    • Advocate for women’s and girls’ rights by promoting access to education, increasing their participation in socio-economic programs, and ensuring gender equality across all initiatives.
  2. Promote and Protect Human Rights
    • Advance human rights, especially for women, children, and disabled individuals, while reducing rights violations and fostering social equity.
  3. Build Community Resilience and Safety
    • Strengthen community resilience through psychosocial support, safe learning environments, and protection measures, promoting peaceful coexistence and community development.
  4. Protect Children and Adolescents
    • Safeguard children and adolescents from violence, exploitation, and harmful practices. Provide inclusive social protection and equip them with skills for future resilience.
  5. Provide Humanitarian Assistance and Climate Adaptation
    • Deliver humanitarian aid to address health, food security, and climate adaptation needs, ensuring safe and sustainable living conditions for vulnerable and affected individuals.
  6. Enhance Livelihood Opportunities for Marginalized Groups
    • Expand sustainable livelihood programs for poor and marginalized Afghans, reducing poverty and building economic resilience.
  7. Strengthen Civil Society Capacity
    • Build the capacity of Afghan civil society organizations through training, networking, and advocacy, enhancing community development and rights promotion.
  8. Health and Nutrition Improvement
    • Raise health and nutrition standards with a focus on maternal and child health, nutrition, and food hygiene, improving access to essential healthcare for vulnerable communities.
  9. Enhance Education Access and Build Empowerment and Capacity.
    • Promote quality education for women and girls, empower youth through training, and support communities to build resilience and reduce displacement impacts.
  10. Humanitarian Assistance and Sustainable Environment
    • Channel humanitarian assistance to support basic needs in food, health, and WASH, while promoting sustainable climate adaptation practices to protect communities at risk.
