The Embroidery Support Project (Goldozi), funded by Promote-USAID, aimed to empower women and girls in Herat and Farah provinces by providing professional Goldozi (embroidery) training and business capacity-building support. Running from November 1, 2022, to December 15, 2023, the project reached 2500 beneficiaries. Key activities included training over 1760 women in Goldozi embroidery and offering capacity-building workshops covering self-management, business management, marketing, costing and pricing, and small loans. These trainings helped participants gain essential skills to start and manage their businesses, improve financial literacy, and understand market dynamics. The project also promoted female entrepreneurship, helping women break gender barriers and establish themselves as successful business owners. By providing the necessary tools, knowledge, and support, the project fostered economic empowerment and created opportunities for women in Herat and Farah.
